4 Metabolism & Weight Loss Tips

 

Metabolism and Weight Loss are pretty much 'joined at the hip'. If you want to lose weight quickly, the best way is to boost your metabolism. There are various ways in which you can speed up the way your body processes and uses the calories that you consume. Here are just a few :

1) Instead of having a couple of large meals a couple of times a day, take smaller more regular meals. Evidence suggests that eating in this way keeps your metabolism running. Around 10 percent of the calories that we use daily go on digestion and absorption of food, so the more often you eat, the better it is likely to be.

2) Eat plenty of low-fat, protein rich food. It's believed that around 25 Percent of the calories in a high protein meal may be burned off. Chicken (skinless, of course!), lean meat and low fat dairy products are all in this category.

3) Move more. I know that it's been said by almost every weight loss expert on the planet, but it's true. If you do some exercise, your body will start to build up your muscle which in turn will speed up your metabolism and weight loss. Simple things like walking instead of driving short distances will help. If you can get some aerobic training in as well, things will happen a lot faster!

4) Eat more hot and spicy food. Spicy foods are thought to raise your metabolism by up to 50 percent for 2 to 3 hours after you've eaten them as they raise your heart rate. Just make sure that you're eating the right stuff, some curries have huge amounts of fat and calories which, if you have one of those, is defeating the object!

Just by following these tips, you can almost guarantee that your metabolism and weight loss will speed up and you'll find it easier to reach your goal.
