Alabama sheriff to give up profits from jail food
An order from U.S. District Judge U.W. Clemon shows that Morgan County Sheriff Greg Bartlett has promised to use all government funding he receives for food to actually feed prisoners in the county lockup, which holds about 300 men and women.

A Fort Jackson drill sergeant was arrested Thursday on charges he sexually assaulted a woman at his home Monday, Richland County sheriffs deputies said. Antone P. Grace, 33, is in the Richland County jail, charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct.
