As a Physical Therapist with a focus on pelvic floor strengthening, I encourage women to also perform pelvic floor elevations so that they are working both actions of the pelvic floor muscle. In addition, women, with permission from their obs, should also strengthen the coordinating muscles (abs, glutes, low back, etc.) to help strenghten the entire pelvic basket.
